ids Ministries (pre-K through 5th grade)
Cape Charles Baptist Church is blessed by the presence of dozens of kids every Sunday, and attendence in the range of 50-100 children for special events like Friday Night Live and Vacation Bible School. Each Sunday we offer "Children's Church", a separate worship service specifically geared for children with messages and Bible stories appropriate for their age group.
We feel strongly that children are a precious gift from God, entrusted to our care as parents, teachers, friends and counselors, and we want to provide a safe and warm environment where they can see the love of Jesus Christ in our lives, our worship services and classes.
Among the various kids programs we offer are:
* Children's Church during regular worship hour
* Friday Night Live (Every other week September - June)
* Hand Bell Choir
Friday Night Live is a Christ centered program that meets twice a month during the school year on Fridays at Cape Charles Baptist Church. Our desire is to SHARE Christ and CONNECT with the kids in our community and our church family.
Friday Night Live is for kids pre-K through the fifth grade. Check-in begins at 6:30 and pick-up is at 8:45. We sing, watch skits, make a craft, eat a fun snack, play games, and have a Bible Lesson. We often have special theme nights so be sure to email the church to receive our current calendar. (past theme nights: Banana Night, Race Night, Cheerio Night, Pirate Night, Pickle Night, Firefighter Night!)
We desire to serve the whole family through this ministry, which is a partnership between the parents and the leaders to allow children the opportunity to discover the excitement of being a follower of Jesus. The leadership team is made up of adults that love kids and love Jesus. The adults meet bi-monthly to plan and pray for each Friday Night Live.
Children’s Church is a time for kids to GROW, SERVE and HONOR God. We feel that it is very important for children to see their parents and other adults worshiping God. So, we meet every Sunday in the educational building after the morning offering has been collected. We know that parents are the best teachers of our faith so we desire to come alongside and partner with them by offering a special worship service for kids in grades pre-K through 3rd grade. In Children’s Church, we sing, create a craft, pray, form friendships, and learn a Bible lesson.
Sunday School takes place Sunday mornings at 10:00 in the educational building. There are age appropriate classes for all children. This is a great opportunity for your child to GROW and CONNECT with adults and kids within the church family.
Special Children Events: Every year there are events that take place that are for the children or special presentations presented by the children. This past year, we took our first ever road trip to The Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. We had an amazing time. Check out the pictures of our lunch at the lodge under the photo tab. The children also present a special program on Mother’s Day. This has become a meaningful Sunday for kids and their families. Also, there are slumber parties, camp trips, swimming parties, dramas, Vacation Bible School, and other fun activites that take place throughout the year.
